Trip to Pretoria - the nations capital

Pretoria is a city located just 50KM north of Joburg, in the Gauteng Province. It is one of the country's three capital cities, serving as the executive (administrative) and official de facto capital; the other two being Cape Town and Bloemfontein, respectively the legislative and judicial capitals. Pretoria, also known as Thswane, is almost entirely black populated and a visit there is very interesting. We walked around downtown and discovered some monuments.

Weekend in Johannesburg

Hey folks! We finally are back again safely. Been to Joburg, also known as GP (officially Gauteng Province (Golden Province in Afrikaans), but locals call it also Gangsta´s Paradise, hehe). Anyways, it was a interesting trip and we got to know the country a little better again.
We had the great opportunity to stay with a rich family in a security complex north of Joburg. It is called Dainfern Valley. A security complex is a kind of little village surrounded by massive walls and electrical fence. Usually there are entrances (gates) on every side. At a gate you will be asked where to go and what reason for. The guard then calls the person you will go in order to confirm it. Very strict rules there. For us as Europeans very strange and bizarre. Anyways the family was very nice and friendly. We had nice food and an excellent beer supply there. hehe. cheers
